The front-facing pocket is designed to accept the hand-portable with either high capacity or standard capacity battery types fitted. This pocket will charge a battery attached to a transceiver. The rear pocket accepts a battery only.
The transceiver LED indicates the battery status. The rear pocket will charge a battery on its own. The left hand tri-colour LED on the front of the charger unit indicates the battery status:
